The Dana Adobe is the home of the founder of Nipomo, Captain William Dana
and his family. This historical adobe, second only to the Mission in its
importance to San Luis Obispo County, stands today with the DANA organization
actively working towards the restoration of the home. Once completed,
with its surrounding historical park, it will be the cultural tourism
center of Nipomo.

FLACO LAKE AND GUADALUPE-NIPOMO DUNES:
Guadalupe-Nipomo Dunes Preserve is part of the 18-mile stretch of coastal
dunes on California's Central Coast. The Preserve is located between Pismo
(Oceano) Dunes State Vehicle Recreation Area in San Luis Obispo County
and Point Sal State Beach in northern Santa Barbara County. The dunes
complex has also been designated as part of a National Natural Landmark
(NNL) by the Department of Interior (National Park Service).

NIPOMO
COMMUNITY PARK Located ¾ of a mile west of U.S. 101, (W. Tefft
St & Pomery Rd)
This 132-acre park, shaded with eucalyptus, oak and pine trees, contains
facilities for a number of activities tennis, handball, softball, baseball,
football, volleyball, and horseshoes. Picnic tables and barbecues are
located throughout the park, and a natural area features a ring and trails
for equestrians. A playground on the south side provides a good stopping
place for travelers with children.
Nipomo Off-leash Recreational
Area ( NORA) provides a fenced section of the Nipomo Park where dogs and
their people are able to roam and play together in a confined leash-free
environment. This is a good idea for travelers going up or down the coast

The Nipomo Recreation Association
is a hub for many activities in Nipomo.
The Association provides the community with programs such as the pre-school
and before and after school curriculum for school age children, youth
and teen activities, and sports programs.
